NATIONAL ART HONOR SOCIETY: Ms. Hopkins (312) and Ms. Thomas (301)

In 1978, the National Art Education Association began the NAHS program to inspire and recognize students who have shown an outstanding ability and interest in art. The program supports members in their efforts to attain the highest standards in art scholarship, character, and service and to bring art education to the attention of the school and community.

Berkeley County Law Enforcement Explorers: Mr. Wright (415)

This club educates students on law enforcement topics and practical applications in order for them to make an informed career choice. Meetings are every Monday night, 6-930, room 415.

BETA CLUB: Ms. Buchan (403) and Ms. Nutt (400)

BETA is an organization that provides opportunities to demonstrate the ideals of character, achievement, service and leadership in the community. Meetings are the second Tues. of each month, 415-500, room 403

Black Student Union: Mr. C. Reyes (105)

The goal of the BSU is to spread awareness, foster knowledge, and encourage growth in our CBHS community, drawing on the valuable diversity of our students and promoting unity. Meetings are Tuesdays from 4:30-5:30 in room 105.

Cane Bay Buddies: Ms. Jeffcoat (guidance)

Cane Bay Buddies is a group for all incoming students that are new to Cane Bay. This group is led by our CBH Student Leadership team and will meet Sunday afternoons throughout the summer. During the meet and greet, new students will be introduced to CBH and will have the opportunity to meet other students. During the school year we hope to meet incoming students and assist with tours. If you are interested in joining this group, please see Ms. Jeffcoat in guidance.

Gaming Community League – Mr. Yenyo(406) and Mr. Keith (405)

Gaming Community League is a club for gamers of all kinds to gather and enjoy some friendly and competitive games. The club plays everything from Dungeons and Dragons, Warhammer, Magic: The Gathering, and various video games. Gaming Community League meets every Tuesday in the Media Center from 4:05 to 5:30. Google IT Support: Ms. Gagne (509)

Students will earn their Google IT Support Certificate through participation in a five-course program. Upon completion of this program, students will understand core concepts to all IT support jobs including troubleshooting, customer service, networking, system administration, operating systems, and security. Students will gain experience working with Linux, Cloud Computing, and Command-Line Interfaces. Certificate graduates who also pass the CompTIA A+ certification exam have the potential to earn dual credit from CompTIA and Google. Students must be 16 years of age or older to participate. EMS Explorers: Mr. Lucero (503)

Ever thought about a career in Emergency Medical Services? Cane Bay High School and Berkeley County EMS are teaming up to provide CBHS students an exciting EMS Explorer Program. Contact Mr. Lucero for meeting times.

EXCEL: Ms. Bailey (media center)

Excel clubs are dedicated to improving their schools, communities and country through volunteerism. Excel clubs focus on Exchange’s four programs of service: Americanism, youth activities, community service & the prevention of child abuse. Meetings are 3rd Monday, 4-5 in the media center

Fishing Club: Mr. Wright (415)

The club fishes both competitively and for recreational purposes. Students learn the basic fundamentals of fishing, wildlife management and preservation, conservation and self-fulfillment. Meetings are every Monday, 415-515, room 415.

Future Business Leaders of America: Ms. Cooper (404) and Ms. Mitchell (708)

FBLA is a national organization for students who are enrolled in a business or business-related course. FBLA helps students prepare for careers in business through academic competitions, leadership development, community service and educational programs. Meetings are the 1st and 3rd Wednesday, 4pm - 5pm, Room 404.

Future Farmers of America: Mr. Richter (507)

FFA makes a positive difference in the lives of students by developing their potential for leadership, personal growth and career success through Agriculture, Environmental and Natural Resource courses. See Mr. Richter in room 507 for meeting times.

Health Occupations Students of America: Mr. Lucero (503) and Ms. Cox (502)

HOSA’s mission is to promote career opportunities in the health care industry and to enhance the delivery of quality health care to all people. Contact Mr. Lucero for meeting times.

Hope Wings: Mr. Tarver (510)

Hope Wings is to have students of all grade levels and ages come together to write letters to various groups (first responders, firefighters, patients and workers in hospitals, veterans, etc) and donate supplies to nearby organizations (My Sister’s House, Habitats for Humanity, children’s hospitals, etc). Students will be able to present ideas to the group during meetings and learn to help and support the community in various ways. Monday mornings and afternoons.

International Club: Ms. Soto (700) and Ms. Acosta (603)

International Club is designed to promote cultural awareness and foster cultural competence skills throughout the Cane Bay High School community. We will meet twice a month and our activities include: homecoming celebrations, fundraising, community service, school cultural awareness activities, international taste fests, international board games, practicing different foreign languages, explore international art/music and attend field trips throughout the city of Charleston. Meetings are every other Tuesday in room 700 at 4:05pm.

International Thespian Society: Ms. James (600)

The Thespian troupe is a subset of the theatre arts program. It is the student honor society, a separate student organization, and membership is earned. Any student may be a member of the theatre program, but only students who have been officially inducted and registered with the EdTA national office are members of the theatre program and the International Thespian Society. An ITS information meeting will be held the second week of school for anyone who may be interested.

JROTC Academic Bowl: MSgt. Brown and Major Megee—must be enrolled in JROTC (303)

Participate in the Academic Bowl and your team may win the opportunity to compete in the Academic Championship (JLAB) in Washington, DC! Sixteen (16) AFJROTC teams will qualify to attend JLAB! Meetings are every Monday, 4-5, room 303.

JROTC Aviation Club: MSgt. Brown and Major Megee—must be enrolled in JROTC (303)

This club is designed to spark interest in aviation. AFJROTC Cadets gain general knowledge of the principles of flight, and learn the parts and instrumentation of an airplane and how they function. Cadets construct and fly radio controlled planes and learn to operate multicopters (drones). Meetings are every Wednesday, 4-5, room 303.

JROTC Drill Team: MSgt. Brown and Major Megee—must be enrolled in JROTC(303)

JROTC has a competitive military drill team that have competitions around the state. Meetings are every Tues. and Thurs., 400, room 303.

JROTC Kitty Hawk Air Society: MSgt. Brown and Major Megee—must be enrolled in JROTC (303)

This is the service and honor society for JROTC. Cadets must be nominated and compete a pledge process. Meetings are the 1st Monday, 4-5, room 303.

JROTC Rocketry Club: MSgt. Brown and Major Megee—must be enrolled in JROTC (303)

Model rocketry is the designing, building, and flying of small rockets made of paper, plastic, balsa wood and other lightweight material. Meetings are each Wednesday, 4-5, room 303.

Junior Board: Ms. Barnes (202)

Junior Board members represent the interest of the junior class. They organize junior activities including prom, school spirit at pep rallies, craft show fundraiser in the fall and provide aid to the students, school and community. Meetings are the last Wednesday of each month, 8:15-8:55am in room 607.

Key Club: Ms. Cook (411)

Key Club is an international, student-led organization that provides its members with opportunities to provide service, build character and develop leadership. Key Club aims to cooperate with school principals and teachers to provide high school students with invaluable experience in living and working together and to prepare them for useful citizenship. Our members develop initiative and leadership skills by serving their schools and communities. Meetings are every first and last Tuesday of the month.

Magic: Mr. Yenyo (406) and Mr. Keith (405)

The Gathering League is a club where students and sponsors play friendly and competitive games of Magic: The Gathering. The club meets every Thursday from 4:05 to 5:30 in Mr. Tarver’s room 510.

Men’s Volleyball: Mr. Lariviere (311)

The men’s volleyball club is designed to teach any level and anyone who wants to learn, practice and compete in 6 man volleyball. The practices are twice a week from 4 to 6 and playing other schools' home or away usually fall on a Tuesday or Thursday. Our season begins in February and last until May.

Mock Trial: Mr. Wright (415)

Mock Trial is a competition club that prepares students to ‘go to court’. They compete against other school teams. For students interested in law, it is a great place to start. Meetings are Mondays 4:30-6 in room 607 and will begin in October.

Mu Alpha Theta: Mr. Yenyo (406)

The mathematics honor society performs community service while maintaining high academics. Meetings are the last Wednesday of each month, 410-445, room 406.

National Honor Society: Ms. Brunhouse (209)

NHS recognizes students who have shown excellence, character, leadership and service to their community. In order to be a member, students must be accepted after submitting an application. Eligible students can apply in the spring. See Ms. Brunhouse in room 209.

Pride: Mr. C. Reyes (105)

The purpose of the CBHS Pride Club is to create a safe, welcoming, and accepting school environment for all youth, regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity. Meetings are on Thursdays from 4:30-5:30 in room 105.

QUEST: TBD

Quest is a competitive club that aims to promote academic excellence, provide an academic challenge for students, and recognize those students, teachers, and schools that excel in various academic areas.

Renaissance: Ms. Summers (101) and Ms. Purdy (100)

Renaissance implements ways to positively influence CBHS’s culture and climate. Focus on Respect, Recognize, Reward, Reinforce and Results. Meetings are 1st Wednesday of the month, 4:30-5:30, room 100.

Robotics: Mr. Sklar (511) and Ms. Gagne (509)

Robotics is a student-based organization which challenges students creatively, strategically and academically. Teams are challenged to build and program robots to play a field game against other robots. See Mr. Sklar in room 511 for meeting times.

Senior Board: Ms. Pitcher (guidance), Ms. Summers (101), Dr. P. Mack (410)

Members will plan, implement and participate in senior class events and activities. Meetings are the 1st and 3rd Thursday of each month, 815 am, room 101.

Student Council: Ms. McSwain (204) and Ms. Barnes (202)

Student Council provides a democratic forum where students can address school-related topics. It maintains communication among students, faculty, and administration and plans, conducts, and oversees social functions and community matters that concern students. The council is made up of elected members from each grade level. If interested, see Ms. McSwain in room 204.

Theatre Arts at Cane Bay: Ms. James (600)

Any student may be a part of the Theatre program regardless of class enrollment. For the 2021-2022 season, students will have the opportunity to participate in weekly practicums as well as auditions for stage productions and special projects. An information meeting will be held in the first week of school for all interested.

YoungLife: Ms. Purdy (100)

YoungLife is a Christian-based and student-led club. The club develops and participates in outreach projects, holds bible studies and has fellowship. Meetings to be determined.
