The Varsity baseball team secured the first region championship since 2008 and looks to continue with the first region championship in the same span. The Knights host Fort Dorchester in the district championship Friday night at 6:30 PM. Should the Knights win Friday night, they would head to the Lower State Championship series. If Fort Dorchester should win, the Knights and Patriots will play a winner take all final game on Saturday for the right to advance.
The 2008 team would go on to be the lower state runner up. Stratford last appeared in the State Championship in 2005, winning it all. The 2008 team finished the year with 23-6 record while the 2005 team went 28-6.
The Knights also received good news this week with seniors Bryce Herpolsheimer and Jason Smith being named to the North/South team.
Fans attending the game at Stratford are reminded that only SCHSL passes will be accepted. Tickets can be purchased online or at gate for $8. Fans are also reminded that Berkeley County School District's clear bag or no bag policy will be enforced.
