🌍✨ In celebration of Earth Day, our 7th-grade science students got their hands dirty – literally! They worked together to create seed bombs as part of our lesson on ecosystems, plant growth, and the environment. These tiny, biodegradable balls are packed with seeds that can help restore local habitats, promote biodiversity, and give back to the Earth. 🌱💚
By making seed bombs, students are learning about the interconnectedness of living organisms and how humans can play a positive role in sustaining our planet. This hands-on project connects to South Carolina’s 7th grade science standards, including concepts like the importance of biodiversity, the role of plants in ecosystems, and the impact of human activities on the environment.
Great job, students! Keep up the amazing work in caring for our world. 🌏🌸

We are excited to announce the arrival of "Weston the Warrior," the newest addition to Westview Middle School's community! 🦢 Conceptualized by student Keilan W., voted on by the students and beautifully painted by a member of the Goose Creek Artist Guild, Weston was designed by Keilan to represent all of the different students within our building. Every day, students ask Dr. Bradley, "Where's the goose?" Well, now you know! Are you excited to meet Weston? Share your thoughts below! 👇❤️#WestonTheWarrior #CreekRising #GooseChase

Purple Up Day at Westview Middle!
Today, our amazing staff showed their support for military families by proudly wearing purple!
We’re so grateful for the strength, resilience, and sacrifices of our military-connected students and their families. Thank you for being such an important part of our school community!

🌿🦋 Exciting things are happening at Westview Unified! Our students teamed up with the school librarian to explore the amazing life cycle of butterflies. They observed caterpillars transforming into beautiful butterflies right in the library! After learning and observing, they released them into the school garden. A wonderful blend of nature and education! 🦋🌼

Attention Parents! We need your help! We are seeking volunteers to help with our Q3 Renaissance Rally on Friday, April 11, from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm. Please see your email for the signup link.

Our Renaissance team challenged students last week to pay it forward with our "Compliment Chain". Students could write a compliment to a fellow classmate or teacher and they were all linked together to display in the cafeteria. We are working to build a positive school culture one compliment at a time! #SchoolCultureChallenge #JostensRenaissance

Superior With Distinction! Our 7th and 8th grade honor band students traveled to West Ashley High School today for the State Concert Performance assessment and received the best score offered! We are so proud of our band students and their continued success. This marks 4 straight years of "Superior With Distinction" for our program. Thank you to our band parents, the BCSD transportation office, and everyone who came together to make this possible! #MakingAPositiveDifference #BandLegacy

Last night Dr. Bradley had the honor of accompanying Ms. Samantha Howard, WVM's media specialist, to the 2025 teacher forum induction at Cypress Gardens. Ms. Howard joins a long line of educators from WVM's history who have been bestowed with the honor of "Teacher of the Year". We are so lucky to have such an amazing staff at WVM!

It is hard to describe the amount of fun we had at the 3rd Annual Warrior Color Run at Westview Middle yesterday! Students had a blast getting doused in color powder, hanging with friends and staff, and enjoying the nice warm weather. Make sure you are there with us next year!

Today, 31 students traveled to the Summer’s Corner Performing Arts Center to perform for SCMEA CPA (Choral Performance Assessment). Students in each choir performed two selections for three judges, then had to sight-sing 16 measures of unfamiliar three part music for another judge. The judges rated Chorus 1 as “Superior” and Chamber Choir as “Superior with Distinction!” This marks three years in a row of Superior ratings at CPA, and this was the first time that two choirs were evaluated from WVM. Congratulations to the students and Ms. Malcher for all of their hard work and achievement!

Westview Middle is proud to announce that we have been recognized as a Jostens Renaissance Culture Builder for our dedication to creating a positive and supportive school environment during the month of February! Students were challenged to be in class and on time each day. Winning homerooms were visited by a chip cart and teachers got to spin a wheel full of prizes. WVM strives for regular student attendance because it is crucial for academic success and a positive school climate.

The state of South Carolina has adopted new math standards for the 2025-2026 school year and our Warrior Teachers are ready! Dr. Manchester led math standards training with our 8th grade teachers this week, and worked on vertical articulation. Teachers looked at how the standards will iterate from 6th to 8th grade and what this will mean for student learning!

Bravo! History Made at Westview Middle!
For the first time in nearly 50 years, the Westview Middle School band has achieved an incredible milestone! Fourteen of our talented middle school musicians participated in the SCBDA Jazz Performance Assessment at Charleston Southern University—and they earned a Superior rating (with distinction) with straight 1s, the highest score possible!
We are beyond proud of these students and the dedication they have shown to their craft. A huge congratulations to Mr. Ward for his leadership and the outstanding program he has built. This is just the beginning of great things to come!
